GCSE result week- an overview (+ my results and some general advice)

Okay guys, it's been... what 11 months since I've updated this blog?? Now, I would blame it on my exams and how busy I was preparing for my future and all that... however summer started 3 months ago and I haven't touched this blog since. Oops.

HOWEVER, i have reemerged (once again) from my heavy slumber and this time i have come to STAY.

I have lots of ideas for where I'm going to take this blog (maybee a bit of politicial commentary hmm wink), and I also plan to post at LEAST once a week, even as I enter sixth form.

Now for my life- well it's going great, thank you for asking. My GCSEs are DONE and my results are in! Honestly, I'm so grateful to God for what He has helped me to achieve and the strength He has imparted on me to keep going through the stress, burn-outs and doubts. God really is good!

But before I disclose my results I would like to say something.

To anyone reading this that may have just gotten their results (and it wasn't favourable), or who is stressing over their GCSEs or yet to do their GCSEs: please do not be put down. Please do not wallow in despair or disappointment because your future is worth so much more than these 10 numbers on a piece of paper. They do not make you valuable; your value comes from the life beating from within your chest every second, from the way you communicate with others and make them feel, from your understanding, empathy resilience and hard-work.

GCSEs can never mimic that. And on a pragmatic level, Universities do not care what grades you've received (as long as you passed). A-levels, personal statements, and so many other things take precedence over the 29 exams you did in June at the age of 16. Even academically they are not an indicator of your ability to succeed in life, so please do not be disappointed or overly stressed about them.

On that note, please do care about them somewhat: not passing your GCSEs will not help you at all later in life. You don't need to be a grade 9 student, but passing will open basic opportunities that you will need.

Okay, that's my sermon over. Now for how I did... I got seven 9s and two 8s!! (which is all A* for any non-British readers).

I am sooo incredibly grateful and am sooo excited to embark on my A-level journey and hopefully achieve Oxford in the future!

Thank you so much for reading and may God bless you all. I look forward to see you next week!!
